As I have stated in previous postings on my blogs, because of my being older, but not too old, I love the old ways and miss the “good old days” when the world was a much safer place to be and life was much simpler and this is not only true in regards to our society and life as much as it is true for music. Not that I do not enjoy some of the contemporary hymns and songs that are being written today as I do, but there is just nothing more wonderful to my ears and more blessed to my soul than listening to some of the older hymns that were written.

The CD “Goodness & Faithfulness,” one of the “Fruit of the Spirit” CD’s – a part of the collection from Discovery House Music has turned out to be one of the musical CD’s I enjoy listening to because it is causes me to feel joy, and gives me much needed comfort to my soul. The music is simply heavenly and causes me to think on Jesus Christ and his great love for me as well as it stirs a longing in my soul for Heaven where I will be with my Savior whom I love. And I am sure when you listen to the CD you will feel the same way as well.

Goodness & Faithfulness contains 10 beautifully performed classic hymns that are sure to uplift your heart and bless your soul. I can tell you that it has mine. The City of Prague Orchestra and a host of other musicians performing on a variety of instruments delivers 10 memorable renditions of some of the hymns that saints have come to know and love dearly through the years.

On the Goodness & Faithfulness CD you will enjoy hymns such as a rousing and uplifting rendition of Praise To The Lord, The Almighty, or a delightful worshipful rendition of Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing…it is so calming to the soul; The hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness is magnificent and I Have Decided To Follow Jesus is a lively version of the hymn that is sure to get your toes tapping a bit from the joy of the music. Day By Day is delightfully worshipful; His Eye Is On The Sparrow performed with the music of the full orchestra will lift your soul to the heights as you consider the truth of the song that God’s eye indeed is on the sparrow but that he also watches over you and me. The other hymns, The Steadfast Love Of The Lord, He Leadeth Me, Surely Goodness and Mercy and finally Blessed Assurance are all sure to please just as much as the other hymns before them. I am enjoying listening to the CD right now as I write this review of it. And my heart is full of worship, love, adoration and thankfulness to God for providing all of us who know Jesus as their Lord and Savior so great a Savior, so glorious a salvation and such wonderful music to enjoy. And think, if the music sounds this good here on earth imagine if you can what it will sound like in Heaven. Oh, I can’t wait!
