I Enjoy Listening to Classic Hymns As Sung by Wintley Phipps on His "The Classics" CD Collection

As I have stated in previous postings on my blogs, because of my being older I love the old ways and miss the “good old days” when the world was a much safer place to be and life was much simpler and this is not only true in regards to our society and life as much as it is true for music. Not that I do not enjoy some of the contemporary hymns and songs that are being written today as I do, but there is just nothing sweeter to my ears and more blessed to my soul than some of the older hymns that were written.

World renowned vocal artist Wintley Phipp’s CD, The Classics, is appropriately named, as it is a CD containing 10 beautifully sung classic hymns that are sure to uplift your heart and bless your soul. I can tell you that it has mine. When I experience bouts of depression because of the chemical processes being affected in my brain as a result of my having 2 brain tumors, I pray to my God for help and aid, I take the medications I need to take and then I place a Christian music CD into my computer and listen to the songs and by the end of the CD I have been so encouraged and blessed that my depression is lifted and I find myself rejoicing in God again. And The Classics CD is one of my most favorite gospel CD’s. I know that praying to my God and asking for his help along with taking the medications helps but the music…that is the “icing on the cake,” (which as you know is what makes the cake all the more delicious)…and so, it is the rich deep, and soothing baritone voice of pastor Phipps singing the hymns that praises and worships God that renews my mind and thinking and encourages and edifies my soul thus giving me the help and comfort from God that I need.

On the CD you will find songs such as the “classic” hymn My Tribute written by Andrea Crouch, The Love of God, (and I do love this hymn); Holy, Holy Holy; (another hymn that I truly enjoy); The Lord’s Prayer, The Lord is My Light, There is Power in the Blood, (and there sure is); He, Immortal, Invisible; and finally Deep in My Heart. All totaled there are ten songs on The Classics CD.

I just know if you love and enjoy listening to gospel hymns you will love and enjoy listening to The Classics by Wintley Phipps. Be sure to order a copy of the CD for yourself.
