I Have A Past Present And Future And So Do You!

A past. We all have one. It can haunt us, it can follow us, it can hurt us, or it can help us – if we see the mistakes we have made in our past and have learned from them and have become better and not bitter; transformed by our moment or moments of hardcore brutally honest clarity and realization and not stuck  in the days gone by and all that they represent – whether good or bad. I have a past.

I have a past. A past filled with sin, with sorrow and bitter regrets. A past that had broken relationships and broken hearts and lives. My life was broken too. My spirit was crushed and my heart was broken…my dreams shattered and all seemed hopeless and lost. I broke life and did not know how to fix it. I could not undo what I had done. It was impossible!

“But God.” Those glorious and wonderful words; more glorious than any words known to me today. “But God!” God came into my broken life, saved me (Salvation), and transformed me (Sanctification) and made all things new. And today broken relationships have been restored and broken hearts and lives have experienced and are experiencing healing.

Unfortunately not all from my past have yet experienced such healing and blessing which causes me to experience a profound and inexpressible grief daily But I also experience and express my undying and immeasurable gratitude to my God and Savior for what HE HAS Done and pray fervently and passionately for those who have not yet tasted and seen that he indeed is good and have experienced the fullness of his blessing and healing in their lives.

It is too wondrous to me…too amazing. I can scarce take it in that the God of wonderthe glorious GodJehovah God would love me, forgive me, restore me, and use me today.

Oh God my God I fall prostate before you in utter humiliation at the core of my being and shout with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength…THANK YOU! THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU MY HEAVENLY FATHER. I love you. I adore you and I thank you. Thank you for my past and for what I have learned from it but more thank you for my present with all of its abundance and blessing from you – (love, peace, joy and so much more) and for the incredibly glorious future that awaits me with you.

And yes I have a present. I live in my present experiencing the help and hope and undeserved blessing that only a relationship with God and his son, my blessed Lord and Savior can offer. I do not love this world or anything that is in this world as it could not help me when I needed help and it could not and did not save me. God amazingly did that and for that fact I live in awe of him to live for him, to worship him, to love him and others and to serve him and others with all my heart, mind (what is left of it), soul and strength! This is now my sole purpose in life!

I have a future.
I have a sure and certain hope of a glorious and eternal future with my God and his son Jesus Christ for all eternity. I now have an unshakable confidence and hope that this is true.

GOD has promised me eternal life because I have faith in his son Jesus Christ.
God has said it. I have believed it and do now believe it and that settles the matter once and for all for me. Thanks be unto God for such a sure and certain and wonderful hope!

And to any who might doubt these facts or call into question the veracity of my statements as to whether I have truly changed or not; to you I would say I deserve and accept such doubts because of my past. I will call them “justified suspicions!”

But I do not live to please you or impress you who doubt or lack faith. I live to please him who is the almighty God and one day I shall give a full and accurate accounting to him just as you shall.

And the Word of God states though “my sins were as scarlet” (Isaiah 1:18) and my past darker than dark; that because of what Jesus Christ endured on the cross at Golgotha which led to his death (for you and FOR ME), and because he was buried in the tomb for 3 days, and then rose again; and because I believe this with my whole heart, on that day my God will say,”Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the rest I have prepared for you.” (Matthew 25:21)

Halleluiah! What a salvation! Halleluiah! What a Savior!

If you do not know my God and his son Jesus Christ personally as Savior and Lord it would be a great honor and privilege for me to introduce you to him. To meet him and to truly know him is to love him. I promise you that. If you have any questions or comments please address them to me at harold@haroldsays.com.
